Privacy Policy

Overview

Puka is operated by Abundant Apps Studio. This policy explains how Puka handles information when you use the app, website, waitlist, and support services. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.

Information we process

• Your Apple account identifier and, when provided, name or relay email.
• Dog profiles, including sensitivities, allergies, and preferences you enter.
• Product or food photos, clarification text, and generated analysis results.
• Subscription status, purchase history, scan usage, product interactions, support requests, and security logs.
• Privacy-safe diagnostics such as app version, build number, device and operating-system information, error codes, request references, and crash reports.
• Waitlist email and optional dog name when you choose to join.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, personalize analysis, process scans, enforce free and paid access, prevent abuse, restore purchases, answer support requests, improve reliability, and comply with law.

AI processing and service providers

Before the first scan for an account, Puka asks permission to send the food photos you select and a bounded copy of your saved dog profile through our backend to OpenAI for analysis. The profile copy may include your dog's name, breed, age, body measurements, feeding habits, health conditions, allergies, sensitivities, and goals. Clarification text you provide may also be sent for that scan. You can decline without uploading a scan and turn off future AI sharing in Settings; Puka asks again before a later scan. Supabase provides authentication, database, and backend infrastructure. Apple and RevenueCat process purchases and subscription status. Sentry processes crash and error diagnostics when production monitoring is enabled. These providers process information on our instructions to deliver, secure, and diagnose Puka. Do not upload unrelated personal information.

Raw scan photos are used for the request and are not stored in your scan history by Puka. Puka does not intentionally send scan photos, dog names, ingredient lists, email addresses, authentication tokens, or purchase receipts to Sentry.

Retention

• Account and subscription records: until account deletion, subject to legal retention.
• Structured dog profiles and completed scan results: stored in your owner-scoped Puka cloud account and cached on your device. Scan history remains until you use Clear History or delete your account; the current profile remains until replaced or account deletion.
• Completed scan-usage records and operational logs: generally up to 12 months.
• Failed or abandoned scan reservations: generally up to 30 days.
• Raw scan photos: request duration only; not persisted in scan history.
• Purchase evidence: as needed for entitlements, accounting, fraud prevention, or law.
• Crash and error diagnostics: according to our monitoring provider's retention settings and only for as long as reasonably needed to diagnose and improve reliability.
• Support requests: generally up to 12 months after the request is resolved.

Your choices and account deletion

You can clear synchronized scan history, sign out, or request account deletion in Puka. Account deletion removes server-side account data subject to limited legal retention. Deleting Puka does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage that separately in your Apple account.

Security and international transfers

We use access controls, encryption in transit, and restricted service credentials. No system is completely secure. Providers may process data in countries outside your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

Children

Puka is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
